(August 15, 2015) The Salem Fire Foundation (SFF) participated in Salem Health and Gallagher Fitness Resources‘ High Street Hustle with a team and display table at the event. Hundreds of runners attended the 5k/8k walk/run to help create more awareness of heart disease.
The race kicked off at 7:30 a.m. at the Capitol Mall and three routes (5k, 8k and children’s run) took place in stretches of High Street They even rerouted cars on part of Highway 22. The run was a 70s theme and the Salem Fire Foundation had a team of three.
The SFF booth displayed brochures, new t-shirts, PulsePoint information and showed one of the individual CPR teaching kits.
“We talked to a lot of people,” said volunteer Ryan Gail, who worked the booth. “Most people seemed really interested in helping the foundation. They even sold a few t-shirts on site.
