Janet Campbell: A New Asset to the Salem Fire Foundation Board
The Salem Fire Foundation (SFF) is proud to announce the election of Janet Campbell, Deputy Fire Marshal for the City of Salem Fire Department, to its Board of Directors. With a rich background in fire service, community engagement, and a passion for public safety, Janet brings a unique blend of experience and leadership that will further SFF’s mission to enhance the well-being of the Salem community and support its first responders.
Janet’s motivation for joining the SFF Board is deeply rooted in her desire to contribute to the safety and welfare of both Salem’s citizens and its fire personnel. “I’m excited to be part of a team that has such a positive impact on the community,” Janet shared. “The Foundation provides valuable resources and opportunities, and I look forward to helping expand programs that ultimately save lives.”
Janet’s leadership experience is diverse, having served as Board President for the Madrona Swim Club for three years, led fire safety education initiatives, and participated in the Salem Fire Department’s Quality Improvement (QI) committee. She has also been a Fire Camp Team Leader for the Portland Metro Fire Camp and spent years coaching youth soccer. In terms of fundraising, Janet has actively supported efforts like the Salem Fire Department’s Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) fundraiser and raising funds for her children’s activities. Her collaborative approach and problem-solving skills make her a valuable addition to SFF’s fundraising efforts.
Janet relates closely to firefighters and EMS personnel, understanding the strong bond and culture unique to the fire service. She is eager to help the Foundation achieve its goals, particularly by promoting public awareness of programs like PulsePoint, a life-saving app that connects users with citizens needing CPR. Additionally, she aims to enhance outreach efforts, such as CPR and AED education for the public, and ensure the financial stability of SFF so it can continue serving Salem for years to come.
As a professional priority responder on PulsePoint, Janet’s commitment to public safety extends beyond her day job. Her proactive, positive approach will make her a vital contributor to the Foundation’s efforts.
